As this design is non directional, lampshades can be used either way up for lamp or ceiling. They come with a small adaptor for use with UK lamps which can be easily removed to use with an EU fitting.
If ordering for a ceiling light, you can choose to add a diffuser for filtering over head glare. (Only suitable for pendant shades, as this is a transcluscent disc that sits on the lower rim of the shade).
